In 2016 OBC select scullers took home a handful of medals at the Occoquan Memorial Sprints and finished fifth the final of the intermediate men’s quad at US Rowing Club Nationals! Occoquan Boat Club is excited to again offer a select junior competitive sculling program this summer!

The Basics:
Juniors 18 and under
Men and Women
Preparing junior athletes for a racing experience in small boats at US Rowing Club Nationals.

Coached by Carol Dinion (McLean) and Jesse Clark (Madison Boys’ Head Coach and GMU Crew Assistant Coach)

Session 1 (12 athletes) 6 days, June 26 (Monday) – July 2 (Sunday) 945 am – 215 pm Daily – cost 500

Session 2 (8 athletes selected from session 1) – July 2 – July 18, cost 600 (includes most travel expenses, leave for racing on July 11)

Practice times:
small boats, 9-11am
quad, 6-8pm

Please contact one of the coaches below for more information regarding qualifications, erg scores, sculling experience or to register for the program.  While no sculling experience is necessary (the first session is an immersion into 1x and 2x’s) high caliber athletes with boat moving skills will be selected.
